Lossless Addons

How to enable lossless streaming in 3 steps

Starting with v4.2.0, lossless streaming ships as a separate addon. It takes about 60 seconds to set up and needs no account sign-in.

1

Generate your addon URL

Visit lastwaveaddons.clashprojects.qd.je and verify through Telegram or Discord. After verification, open the Dashboard and copy your personal addon URL.

2

Paste it into LastWave

Open the LastWave app → Settings → Add Streaming Add-on. Paste the URL you copied and tap Connect.

3

Enjoy lossless audio

Your addon is now connected. The daily limit is 500 requests, that's roughly 16 - 18 hours of continuous playback. Complete the GitHub tasks on the addon page for an extra 50% daily limit.

Why the addon system exists: Lossless streaming is expensive to operate. A small number of users were downloading entire 1,000 - 10,000 song playlists, which repeatedly got the developer's premium accounts banned. The addon system keeps lossless access available for everyone by enforcing a fair daily limit.

Safety & Legality

Is LastWave safe to install?

Open source
Yes. LastWave Native is fully open source under the GPL-3.0 license. The complete source code is on GitHub you can audit exactly what the app sends and receives.
Trackers
The app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics services. Unlike many music apps, it does not build an advertising profile or sell listening data.
Backend dependency
LastWave APK is not a purely offline app. Lossless streaming is handled by the developer's backend servers. The app depends on a service that is separate from the APK itself.
Addon system
Lossless streaming requires a Lossless Addon, distributed only through the official Telegram and Discord channels. Never install addons from unofficial sources - see the setup guide above.
Account binding
Lossless streaming requires binding your device to a Discord or Telegram account for rate limiting (1,000 requests per day). Non-lossless playback does not require an account.
Antivirus flags
Unsigned APKs distributed outside the Play Store are sometimes flagged as a precaution. This is a false positive. Verify the SHA-256 hash of any release against the checksums published on the GitHub Releases page. It also passes all security checks of VirusTotal with a clean score of 0/92.
Is it legal?
LastWave is a client for YouTube Music and other providers. It does not host or distribute copyrighted media itself. Streaming music you have not licensed may violate copyright law in your country and the terms of service of the underlying platform. You are responsible for your own use.
Download source
Only download LastWave from the official lastwave.app page. Copies hosted elsewhere may be modified or contain malware.

FAQ

Common questions

Is LastWave really free?

Yes. LastWave is fully free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads. The developer accepts voluntary donations through Telegram Stars, Buy Me a Coffee, and GitHub Sponsors to cover server costs, but these are optional.

Which APK should I download?

If your phone runs Android 10 or newer, download the Universal APK - it's the recommended build. If you're on Android 7, 8, or 9, use the Legacy APK instead, because the Universal build won't install on older Android versions.

Do I need a Discord or Telegram account?

Only if you want lossless streaming. Non-lossless playback works without any account, including the built-in Guest Login. The Discord or Telegram binding is used for rate limiting only. It's not for marketing or analytics.

Does LastWave work on Windows, macOS, and Linux?

Yes, LastWave Desktop works on Windows, macOS and Linux. It’s a lossless music player with synced lyrics, smart playlists and Last.fm scrobbling, so you get the same core experience on all three. Windows has the most advanced audio output, including bit-perfect playback via WASAPI exclusive mode. Linux and macOS are fully supported too, though the macOS build is currently unsigned and may need manual approval on first launch. You can also use it as a guest, with no account needed. See the downloads section.

Is my data private?

The app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics. Your library, playlists, and listening history stay on your device. However, Last.fm scrobbling (if enabled) sends data to Last.fm but this is optional.

Can I use LastWave without an account?

Yes! Guest Login lets you use LastWave without creating or connecting an account. Sign in with Google only if you want personalized recommendations or to sync your listening history across all devices signed in to the same account.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Open an issue on the GitHub issue tracker. Include the app version, Android version, steps to reproduce, and if possible a logcat log. The developer and contributors actively review reports. However, it is recommended to contact developer on Telegram or Discord before submitting an issue.
